Move the boat up from Stretford to Dale Street Basin up the 'Rochdale Nine' by the crew of the day: Bill, Phil, and Ernie.
Saturday 8th September 2007
Set out with new crew up the 19 locks of the Rochdale with 'assisted passage' starting at 8.30 am.

33 Miles from Manchester to Sowerby Bridge.
Locks: 91 @ 74ft x 14ft 2ins.
Begun in 1794 by William Jessop.
Opened 1804 along its complete length.

Set out from Littleborough, and get through the summit at midday after lunch in the pub. BWB tell us we should have been there at 8.30, but our information from the website was different. They were there anyway to let another boat through, so quite convenient.

We take the boat as far as Brighouse, and Graham starts the return journey. I join him later in the day and we get as far as Mytholmroyd, where we have a fantastic supper in the Shoulder of Mutton.
